Do I have to do yoga at Yoga Ashram?

No. Yoga asana is offered daily as a grounding invitation, not a requirement. Sessions are shaped to your body and energy. Opting out is completely respected. No prior yoga experience is needed for any retreat.
Is Yoga Ashram a sober retreat?
+
Yes. Yoga Ashram is a no-intoxication venue. Alcohol, recreational drugs, and hallucinogenic substances are not permitted on the property or during retreat participation. We do not use altered-state chemicals. Our approach draws on Ayurvedic plant medicine, somatic therapies, pranayama, sound healing, and ceremonial practice.
What kind of food is served at Yoga Ashram?

Every meal is plant-based, prepared according to Ayurvedic principles, and served as a gluten-conscious buffet. Our kitchen is strictly meat-free. Dairy is used thoughtfully and can be adjusted for vegan guests with advance notice.
Where is Yoga Ashram located?

Yoga Ashram is a boutique jungle sanctuary in Guanacaste, Costa Rica — a 10-minute drive from Tamarindo. The property is nestled in tropical dry forest with proximity to both jungle and ocean.
Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many of our guests are solo travelers. The retreat container is designed to feel safe, welcoming, and community-oriented. Solo guests often report the most transformative experiences.
How much does a retreat cost?

Retreats start from approximately $1,250 USD for a 4-night stay, with pricing varying by category and accommodation type. All retreats can be extended to 5, 6, or 7 nights. Custom quotes are provided after inquiry based on your selected services and dates.
What is included in a retreat?

All retreats include boutique accommodation, daily plant-based Ayurvedic meals, daily yoga and meditation, and integration support. Specific inclusions vary by retreat category — see individual retreat pages for full details.
What should I bring?

Light, breathable clothing for yoga and warm layers for cool mornings. Swimwear, sun protection, insect repellent, and comfortable walking shoes for nature outings. Yoga mats and props are provided on-site.
How is Yoga Ashram different from a psychedelic retreat?

We do not use altered-state chemicals. Transformation at Yoga Ashram is achieved through embodied practices — yoga, breathwork, sound healing, Ayurvedic plant medicine (adaptogenic herbs and nervine tonics), somatic therapies, and ceremonial practice. The result is lucid, integrative, and yours to keep.
Do you offer yoga teacher training?

Yes. Hari OM School of Yoga and Ayurveda (Yoga Alliance RYS) offers 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings with Ayurveda integration. Teacher training is handled through the Hari OM educational brand, not through the retreat booking system on this site.

Reset Retreats
How long is a Reset Retreat?

The base Reset Retreat is 4 nights / 5 days, with the option to extend to 5, 6, or 7 nights.
Do I need yoga experience for a Reset Retreat?

No. Reset Retreats are beginner-friendly and can be adapted to your current energy and mobility.
Healing Retreats
Are Healing Retreats clinical treatment?

No. They are holistic wellness retreats and are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care.
Can I add extra sessions to a Healing Retreat?

Yes. The availability form lets you request optional services such as massage, Ayurveda, Reiki, sound healing, and airport transfer.
Transformation Retreats
Do I need prior knowledge of astrology or Human Design?

No. Transformation experiences are designed to be accessible and practical for beginners.
Are ceremonies required?

Ceremonies are part of the retreat container, but participation can be adapted respectfully to your comfort level.
Adventure & Nature Retreats
Do I need surf experience?

No. Surf and ocean activities can be beginner-friendly and are selected based on your experience and conditions.
Can I choose a softer adventure?

Yes. Choose Nature, Beach & Yoga Escape if you want Costa Rica nature without a surf-heavy schedule.
